Murder arrests after man dies in Northwich

Police say they were called to a disturbance in Rudheath yesterday afternoon

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died at an address in Northwich.

Police say they were called to Brook Lane in Rudheath at around 3.35 yesterday afternoon, where the victim was found with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is now underway into the death of the man, who's thought to be in his 30s, and officers say his family is being supported by specially trained officers.

Two people, a 41-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, were arrested at the address on suspicion of murder.

Detective Inspector Eleanor Atkinson, who is leading the investigation, said, “I understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause, and I want to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.

“Two people have been arrested and are currently being held in police custody.

“Patrols have been stepped up in the local area to provide reassurance, and a cordon is currently in place at the scene.

“As part of the investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything suspicious. The same goes or anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid the in investigation.”
