Police in Stoke-on-Trent have seized more than 50 bags of the synthetic drug known as monkey dust following a raid on a property in Hanley.

Officers executed a warrant at an address near Century Street on the morning of Wednesday, April 23, as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug supply in the area.

A total of 58 snap bags containing the Class B substance were recovered during the search.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. He has been released under investigation while police continue to gather evidence.

The seizure is the latest in a series of enforcement actions aimed at tackling the supply of monkey dust—a synthetic psychoactive drug associated with erratic behavior and health risks.

Local officer PC Natasha Egar said efforts to disrupt the supply chain of the drug are ongoing.

“We are acting quickly to find and charge those bringing this substance into our communities. Monkey dust poses serious dangers, and we’re committed to getting it off our streets,” she said.
