Man jailed for sexual offences following Staffordshire Police investigation
They took place between 2004 and 2016
A man has been jailed for 15 years after he was found guilty of multiple sexual offences in Staffordshire.
Dean Peter Greenaway, 47, of Essington in South Staffordshire, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday (28 February) after being found guilty of two counts of raping a woman, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of cause/inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, two counts of gross indecency with a girl and indecent assault on a girl. It's following a trial in August 2022.
Greenaway was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was found not guilty of a further two offences of the rape of a woman.
Staffordshire Police carried out investigations back in 2019.
The offences took place between 2004 and 2016.
Detective Constable Jason Hughes, of Staffordshire Police, said: “I would like to praise the bravery of the victim for reporting these offences.
“Dean Greenaway has never shown any remorse for his predatory and sickening behaviour and has put his victim through the ordeal of a trial.
“We are committed to getting justice for victims and would encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse to report it directly to police and you can speak with our specialist officers in confidence.”
