Man Jailed for Child Sexual Offences in Staffordshire
He's been given 2.5 years in prison
A man has been jailed for 30 months after pleading guilty to multiple child sexual offences.
Jake Knight, 37, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday, 21 May. At an earlier hearing, he admitted charges of sexual assault, two counts of assault of a girl under 13 by touching, and causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The offences were reported last year, prompting an investigation by the child protection team. Knight was already on the Sex Offenders Register due to previous convictions.
Detective Sergeant Darren Mattocks, from the child protection team, said: “I would like to praise the bravery and courage of the victim in reporting the abuse they endured.
“We are committed to addressing all forms of abuse against children and strongly encourage anyone who suspects that a child is being sexually abused, or has been a victim themselves, regardless of when it occurred, to come forward.
“It is never too late to report a crime, and by doing so, you are helping us to bring these dangerous perpetrators to justice.”
