Man jailed after £4.5k drugs found in Northwich
Officers made the discovery after initially being called to an "incident" in Rudheath
A man's been jailed after over £4.5k worth of drugs were found at an address in Northwich.
Police made the discovery after being called to Church Road, Rudheath, after reports of an "incident" in August last year.
Firearms officers attended, and as officers tried to force entry they spotted a man leaving the address down a set of stairs. He also tried to discard a package,
Marshall Maddock, of Roberts Drive, Rudheath, appeared at Chester Crown Court last Friday, where he was sentenced for two counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs (ketamine and cannabis) and one count of possession of a class B drug (cannabis).
When officers searched the premises they discovered two large bags of Ketamine, which had a potential street value of £4,720.00, hidden in the cavity under the stairs.
Officers then went on to discover a small amount of cannabis and ketamine, along with a large amount of drugs paraphernalia.
Maddock was arrested at the scene and subsequent analysis of his mobile phone revealed that he had been dealing Cannabis and Ketamine.
Police Constable Matt Uren, of Northwich Proactive Policing Team, said:
“Maddock thought he could outsmart the police by trying to flee his address and hide the drugs. However, we were on step ahead of him, and with the police helicopter hovering above his home he literally had nowhere to hide.
“While Maddock is now behind bars, our fight against illegal drugs continues and we are committed to doing all we can to ensure those responsible are held accountable for their actions."
Maddock has been jailed for 10 months.
