Motorcyclist dies after crash in South Staffordshire

The victim - in his 30s - was pronounced dead at the scene

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Six Ashes, near Bobbington.

Police were called to Six Ashes Road at the junction with the A458 Bridgenorth Road at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday 12 March) following a collision involving a black Kawasaki motorcycle and a white BMW 116.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, suffered serious injuries and despite the efforts of medical staff from the air ambulance, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

The driver of the BMW, a woman in her 50s, was admitted to Russells Hall Hospital.

Officers have also urged people not to speculate as to the cause of the collision or comment inappropriately as this is a live on-going police investigation.
