Man dies after being hit by lorry near Northwich

A man has died after being hit by a lorry near Northwich.

Cheshire Police say they were called to the A556 in Lostock Gralam at just before 1am on Tuesday, after reports of a collision between a HGV and pedestrian.

The 31-year-old died at the scene.

An investigation is now underway into the incident.

In a statement, Cheshire Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A556 in Lostock Gralam.

"At 12.56am on Tuesday 18 June a lorry was in collision with a pedestrian as it was travelling toward the M6.

"The pedestrian, a 31-year-old man from Northwich, sadly died at the scene.

"Officers investigating the collision are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage that may help them establish the circumstances to contact them on 101"
