Man confirmed dead after being pulled from water in Stafford park

West Midlands Ambulance Service have confirmed a man has died after being pulled from a river in Stafford.

The Police, Fire Service, Ambulance cews and an air ambulance were called to Victoria Park at 09:33am this morning.

In a statement WMAS say:

"We were called to reports of a patient in the water at Victoria Park in Stafford at 9.33am.

"Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were sent to the scene with the first resource arriving in 5 minutes.

"On arrival, crews found a man who was pulled from the water and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."
