Man charged with arson following Kidsgrove house fire

The 38-year-old will appear in court at a later date

A man has been charged with arson following a house fire in North Staffordshire at the weekend.

Police were called to a residential address near Mount Road, Kidsgrove, at 1.50pm on Saturday (26 March) following reports of a fire.

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were already in attendance prior to officers arrival.

No-one was injured.

A 38-year-old man, from Kidsgrove, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Dean Slack, of Spey Drive, was subsequently charged with the above offence.

He has been remanded ahead of a court appearance at a later date.
