One person has been arrested following reports of two men being stabbed with scissors in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers were called to Hanley Park at 7.20pm on Tuesday (13th May).

One man, in his 30s, had been stabbed in the leg. Another man, in his 40s, had been stabbed in the abdomen.

It's believed both of the victims had been approached by the suspect just before the incident.

It's thought an argument happened where it was then reported that the suspect took out a pair of scissors from a bag and attacked them both.

Both of the victim’s injuries were not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.

They were taken to hospital for treatment by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in custody.

Staffordshire Police said:

"Anyone with any information that can help with our investigation is asked to get in touch. Call 101 or use Live Chat on our website, quoting incident 689 of 13 May. "
