Lorry driver arrested after crash near Nantwich leaves woman injured

The 35-year-old woman had to be rescued from her vehicle

Police have questioned a man following a crash involving a lorry and a car near Nantwich.

At around 7.45am on Monday 17 June police were called to the A530, Shrewbridge Road, Baddington.

Officers arrived at the scene and found that there had been a collision between a lorry and a Nissan Note.

The driver of the Nissan, as 35-year-old woman from Whitchurch, was trapped in their vehicle.

She was released by firefighters and taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

The driver of the lorry, a 57-year-old man from Kidsgrove, was uninjured. The man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving; he has since been released under investigation.

The A530 was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
