A man from Stoke-on-Trent has been charged with wounding after a stabbing in Kidsgrove.

Police were called to a property in the Market Street area last Friday evening.

One man was taken to hospital with injuries which are serious but not life-threatening.

23-year-old Jake Cuthbert, from Burslem, will appear before magistrates in Newcastle today.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "A Burslem man has been charged with wounding with intent following an incident in Kidsgrove on Friday evening (13 August).

"Jake Cuthbert, 23, is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, attempted wounding, robbery of a watch, possession of a knife or bladed article, affray, and criminal damage in Kidsgrove.

"He will appear before magistrates in Newcastle today."
