A man from in his eighties from North Staffordshire has been jailed for nine years for a series of non-recent sex offences.

Keith Turner, 84, was sentenced to nine years in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday (8 April).

Turner, of Warwick Close, Kidsgrove, pleaded guilty to indecent assault of a girl under 16, four offences of gross indecency with a girl under 14, and nine charges of indecent assault of a girl under 14.

The offences were committed in Stoke-on-Trent between 1975 and 2005.

Detective Chief Inspector, Zoe Kelsall, the senior officer in charge of the case, said: “I want to pay tribute to the victims and the tremendous courage and bravery they have shown in coming forward so we could bring this case to court.

“We will continue to do whatever is necessary to bring those responsible for these crimes to justice, whilst ensuring the victims are given the support they need.”
