A Crewe man who shared intimate photos of a couple without their consent and used the pictures as blackmail has been jailed.

24-year-old James Ledsham has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Chester Crown Court heard how Ledsham sent intimate images of a couple to one of their family members, hiding behind a fake account with the name 'Jerry Saa'.

The couple and the family member tried to ignore the messages at first, but Ledsham then messaged one of the victims in a blackmail attempt.

He said if they didn't send more intimate images, he would share the pictures with more people and post them on Facebook.

The victims again ignored this until one of their friends received a photo from the account he was behind.

They contacted the police and investigations revealed 'Jerry Saa' was Ledsham.

He was found guilty of:

  • blackmail
  • harassment
  • and two counts of sharing intimate photographs without consent
