Investigation underway after man dies after being hit by car in Crewe

A investigation is underway after a man died after being hit by a car in Crewe.

Police on patrol discovered the incident on Nantwich Road at 10.09 on Friday, in which the man had been struck by a green BMW.

The 61-year-old was rushed to hospital but later died.

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Nantwich Road was closed in both directions between Broughton Lane and Manor Way but has since reopened.

Sergeant Andrew Dennison said: “This incident occurred on a busy stretch of road during the day so we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened.

“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid our investigation."
