Investigation after 20 involved in Hanley nightclub brawl

A man and a woman have so far been arrested

Police in Staffordshire are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a fight happened outside a nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent involving about 20 people.

At 4.10am in the morning on Saturday (7 December), CCTV captured a fight that started on Stafford Street in Hanley.

People were punched, headbutted and stamped on during the disorder.

A 20-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and displaying threatening and/or abusive behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He was interviewed and released on conditional police bail while the investigation continues.

A 20-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.

She has since been given an adult restorative disposal.
