Police appeal after woman dies in Staffordshire two car collision

A woman in East Staffordshire has died after a two car collision in Hanbury.

The incident happened at around 5pm on Friday (8th August) at the junction of Tutbury Road and Hanbury Road.

A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family are now being supported by specialist officers.

Two others hospitalised have since been discharged.

Officers are keen to speak to the driver of a Red Honda jazz-type car who may have seen what happened.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information after a woman sadly died following a collision in the East Staffordshire area yesterday.

"We were called shortly after 5pm on Friday to the junction of Tutbury Road and Hanbury Road in Hanbury following reports of a collision.

"Two vehicles were involved, a blue Volkswagen Polo and a yellow Kia Picanto.

"Officers attended along with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

"Officers are keen to speak to the driver of a red Honda Jazz-type vehicle, which was not involved in the collision, but was travelling along Hanbury Road towards Anslow Gate and may have seen what happened.

"Anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 540 of 8 August."
