People aged 16 and over are being urged to grab a jab as walk-in vaccination clinics open their doors once again in parts of Staffordshire this weekend.

You can find where your nearest site is by visiting the NHS website. No appointments are necessary, but people are being asked to bring ID.

Centres open for 16s and over include on Saturday Norton Canes Dental Practice in Cannock, Ankerside Shopping Centre and SpringPharm in Tamworth.

The Kingston Centre in Stafford is hosting a walk-in clinic for over 18s on Saturday between 12 and 3pm, and 16-17-year olds only on Saturday from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.

There is also a grab a jab clinic for 18 and overs at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Sunday. Check the national website for days, opening times and vaccine types available.

Dr Johnny McMahon, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Support Member for Health and Integrated Care said: “Vaccination is the best way to protect yourselves and others from the serious effects of Covid 19.

“These walk-in clinics are a great opportunity for everyone, especially 16 and 17 year olds in particular, to grab a jab and we would encourage everyone in this age group to get their first dose as soon as possible.

“We’ve seen case numbers rise in Staffordshire over the past couple of weeks, so getting as many people vaccinated as we can, getting tested twice weekly and taking steps such as continuing to wear face coverings are our best chance of managing cases as we head towards winter.”
