Police are appealing for witnesses after a 15-year-old girl was hit by a van in Crewe.

At around 5pm on Thursday 5 May, she was walking on Timbrell Avenue when she is believed to have been struck by a silver Ford Transit van at the junction of Frank Webb Avenue.

Officers say - thankfully - the teenager did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision.

Police say enquires in relation to the incident are ongoing and the driver of the van, a 39-year-old local man has been arrested and is assisting officers.

Detective Constable Ben Harrington from Cheshire Police said: “This investigation is ongoing and as part of our enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who witnesses the incident or anyone with any video footage of the collision.

“I’m particularly keen to hear from the driver of a blue three door Ford Fiesta and the rider of a motorbike displaying an L plate, which were both seen in the area at the time of the incident.

“I’d ask anyone with any information – no matter how small- to get in touch.”
