Fire service respond to 'serious' house fire in Shavington
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at just after 7pm last night
Firefighters from stations across the region were rushed out to a blaze in the roof of a house in Shavington last night.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue say six appliances were there at the height of the house fire which the emergency services say was ‘significant’.
They were called in from Crewe, Nantwich, Audlem and Lymm, and the aerial ladder platform was from Chester.
Updates from the fire service
The fire service were called out at 19:05 last night (April 29) to reports of a house fire on Crewe Road in Shavington.
At 20:45, it was then reported that firefighters were tackling a 'significant' blaze in the roof space of a house - with six appliances sent out to the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were sent in to the property and everyone was reported as 'accounted for'.
Police were also in attendance on the scene to help manage traffic - and a local restaurant car park was being used as a meeting point for the emergency services.
At 22:00, firefighters were said to have been making 'good progress', with three firefighters still in attendance as they worked to tackle the blaze in the roof from inside the property. The ladder which was deployed was used to host a light source for the team.
At 07:40 this morning, there was still one fire engine in attendance as firefighters worked with a thermal imaging camera and hose reel jet to tackle all of the last hotspots.
At 12:50 this afternoon, it was finally confirmed by the fire service that the blaze had been completely put out.
