Police are appealing after a man died

Police are appealing for information and footage following a fatal road traffic collision near Sandbach in the early hours of Saturday, 24 May.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a red Lexmoto Valiant motorcycle on Ashley Close in Winterley at 12.49am. The rider, a 32-year-old man from the Haslington area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

An investigation is ongoing, and officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police, or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.

Inspector Steve Griffiths said:

“As part of our investigation into the circumstances of this tragic incident, we would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to get in touch with us. The same goes for anyone who has any CCTV or dashcam footage.”

Police have said their thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this time.
