There's a plea for information after an elderly couple were the victim of fraud whilst they were shopping in the supermarket.

Police were called at 11.25pm on Thursday (21 April) to an address near Beacon Street.

The couple were befriended by an offender claiming to be a former neighbour in Lichfield, who reportedly approached them while they were in Morrisons.

The offender then convinced the elderly couple to drive him back to their home where he then stole a purse containing bank cards and a small amount of cash.

The victims were left shaken but unhurt.
