Eight arrests over armed group fight in Stoke
Armed officers were called to stop a group fighting with weapons earlier this month
Staffordshire Police say officers have now arrested a total of eight people as our enquiries continue into an incident involving men with weapons in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were first called at 5.45pm on Saturday 11 May when the group were seen on Rochester Road, Longton.
Firearms officers searched the area but no-one was found and no-one was reported injured.
Since then, seven people from Stoke-on-Trent were arrested:
• A 25-year-old man on suspicion of violent disorder
• A 64-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate
• A 31-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another to do so
• A 29-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate
• Three further men, aged 18, 19 and 23, on suspicion of violent disorder
They have all been questioned in custody and released on bail while enquiries continue.
An 18-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, is the eighth person to be arrested in connection with the incident. He was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and conspiring to possess a firearm without a certificate.

Detectives say they still want to speak to people who were in the area at the time or those with information that can help with enquiries.
