Council urged to install more solar panels in Cheshire car parks
It follows a number of local schemes
The leader of Cheshire East is urging councillors to look into installing solar panels at more of its car parks.
It's as the authority is also starting work on a large-scale solar farm on land near the composting plant at Leighton Grange Farm, Crewe.
As previously reported, Crewe Alexandra FC have also announced their intention to put in panels for its main car park at facilities on Gresty Road.
Asked by Crewe councillor Steve Hogben (Lab) whether the council would be installing solar farms on its public car parks to generate power and income, council leader Sam Corcoran (Lab) said he is hoping this is something Cheshire East would look at doing.
