More crews called to ongoing building fire
Crews are currently in attendance at a fire at a disused building in Warrington town centre
Cheshire Fire and Rescue have called for more support in an attempt to control an ongoing blaze in Warrington.
At around 13:00 today (Monday 14 April) Cheshire Fire Service were alerted to a fire in a disused building in central Warrington.
A fire engine from Warrington was originally sent to tackle the blaze on Barbauld Street.
We have since heard that extra support has been required.
There are now eight fire engines at the site, trying to get the burn under control.
Alongside the engine dispatched from Warrington, one fire engine and an aerial ladder platform from Lymm, one fire engine from Northwich and two fires engine from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are now at the incident.
A further fire engine from Powey Lane and one from Knutsford, as well as a weekday fire engine are now also in attendance.
Firefighters have been seen wearing breathing apparatus and using multiple hose reel jet to tackle the fire.
The alp is working to reveal space in the roof.
Police have now cordoned off the area to allow firefighters to deal with the incident.
