Boy seriously injured after knocked off bike in Stoke-on-Trent
He was rushed to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance
A boy has been seriously injured after being knocked off his bike in Stoke-on-Trent.
Emergency services rushed to Leek Road at around 6.15pm on Monday, after reports of a collision involving a cyclist and car.
Specialist paramedics attended, including two critical care docotrs, and he was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived on scene they found a cyclist, a boy, being cared for by bystanders. Upon assessment the boy was found with serious injuries and the team quickly administered trauma care to him to stabilise his condition. The boy was conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Birmingham Children’s Hospital whilst continuing to receive treatment by medics en route.”
He's currently receiving treatment, and an investigation is now underway.
