Boy, 14, charged over assault in Hanley on Boxing Day

A 14-year-old boy has been charged over an assault of a 13-year-old boy in Stoke-on-Trent city centre.

Police and paramedics were called at about 3pm on Monday 26th December to Bryan Street in Hanley, following reports of violence.

A 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment of neck and leg injuries.

Staffordshire Police say a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has since been charged with a number of offences including wounding with intent and robbery.

In a statement, the force has told us he remains in police custody ahead of a court appearance due at North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow (31st December).

The statement concludes "Members of the public are urged not to speculate regarding the case on social media as you may prejudice legal proceedings."
