Boy, 14, charged after woman threatened with machete in Stoke-on-Trent

A 14-year-old boy has been charged after a woman was threatened with a machete in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.

The boy, from Ashbourne, was arrested after a woman’s car keys were stolen after she was threatened with a machete at a property in Fenton on Tuesday.

He was charged with robbery and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, drive a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with the license, use a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance, drive a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit, fail to stop a vehicle when required by a constable and fail to provide a specimen for analysis.

He appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 18 November.

He is due to appear at the same court on 1 December.
