Two Arrested After Firearm Incident in Burton-on-Trent

Two men have been arrested after armed police responded to reports of individuals carrying firearms in Burton-on-Trent this afternoon (Friday 2 May).

Police were called just after 1pm to Parkway, near Shobnall Road, where two men were reportedly seen with long-barrelled weapons. Armed officers were deployed to the scene and quickly located two individuals matching the description.

It was later confirmed the weapons in question were BB-guns.

The men, aged 34 and 25, both from Burton-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Armed officers have since left the area and the investigation is ongoing.
