Officers have issued CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Burton.

The man is seen entering Max Spielmann in Station Street shortly before 5:30pm on Friday 4 December. Officers want to speak to him as part of their enquiries.

It’s reported two men, pushed staff around, smashed Covid-19 protective screens and threatened staff with a knife before demanding a safe be opened.

It's thought another man was also involved, and was used as a distraction whilst the attempted robbery was carried out.

When the staff could not access the safe, the pair fled the premises, getting into a white Ford Fiesta ST parked directly outside Barclays bank.

A third man was also seen getting into the same car.

The two people, who carried out the raid, are described as one white male and one black male wearing black scarves over their faces, so only their eyes could be seen. One was possibly wearing a blue hoody and the other possibly a green jacket.
