Arrest after reports of someone with knife in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested following reports of someone armed with a knife in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called to Vale Street in Hanley just after 1.45pm on Wednesday (5 June) after a group of people were heard shouting.

Officers carried out a search, although no knife was found.

A 44-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of threatening a person with a blade in a public place.

He has since been released on conditional police bail.
