7-year-old Cheshire girl walks to raise £1,000 for the homeless
Darcey just wanted to help other people
A 7-year-old Cheshire girl, who's been walking to raise money for the homeless, has hit her target of £1,000!
The primary pupil from Holmes-Chapel has been putting one foot in front of the other for Chance Changing Lives, which helps people in Crewe and Nantwich.
The charitable venture was Darcey Walklate’s own idea, after she saw the plight of rough sleepers on the news:
"I'm so happy. I feel amazing and I'm so glad all this money will help people who need it."
Darcey had originally set a target of £100, but within a few hours of her page going live - she had already achieved it.
Darcey’s told us that despite hitting her target – she’s not stopping yet:
"I'm going to carry on until the end of March and raise as much as I can."
