20,000 patients are able to register at a new £5 million health centre that has opened in Stoke-on-Trent.

Longton South Primary Care Centre is now home to Willow Bank Surgery and Longton Hall Surgery.

A video released by NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) shows the what the new build looks like inside and out.

Lynn Millar, Director of Primary Care for the group, said the centre has "a lovely environment for the staff working, it's really light and bright and there's lots of space and it's great for patients."

Longton's new health centre is also equipped with a number of consulting rooms and confidential booths.

Investment for the new health centre has been provided by NHS England and NHS Improvement, while Stoke-on-Trent City Council will own and manage the building.

The new build comes as part of the efforts from Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent's Integrated Care System (ICS) to develop health and wellbeing services in the area.

The ICS, which was established on 1 April 2021, say they will also continue to support:

• A health and care system that tackles the inequalities that exist across our local area

• A more joined-up health and care system focused on meeting the needs of the resident

• The development of a high quality, affordable and accessible health and care system that's accessible to all

• Health and care staff to do their jobs to the best of their ability

• All partners contributing to the economic prosperity of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
