Woman jailed after leaving stranger injured in stiletto shoe attack
Thereese Soper, 29, was jailed for 15 months
A woman has been jailed after using her stiletto shoes to cause significant facial injuries in a bar fight.
Thereese Soper, 29, got involved in an altercation in the Jacques Bar in Doncaster in January of 2020.
Whilst at the bar, Soper approached her victim - a 33-year-old woman who was socialising with her friends - and became aggressive.
After the tensions escalated, Soper admitted to punching the woman before kicking her with the stiletto shoes she was wearing.
The victim suffered substantial injuries to her face and was taken to hospital by an ambulance to be treated.
At Sheffield Crown Court, Soper pleaded guilty to the charges made against her for her involvement in the bar fight.
Soper, of St Catherine’s Avenue in Doncaster, was given a sentence of fifteen months on Monday (January 24th), meaning she will be released from prison in April 2023.
Speaking about the case, Investigating Officer DC Danielle Green from South Yorkshire Police said the fight was needless.
“This was unprovoked attack on an innocent woman in a busy bar. Soper’s behaviour was unjustified, unnecessary and dangerous. I am pleased that her sentencing reflects the severity of the injury caused,” she said.
