Woman in hospital after gunshots heard in Sheffield

A woman is in hospital with a suspected stab wound, as police investigate gunshots heard in Sheffield.
Emergency services were called to Batemoor on Monday night (May 13) where it's believed an argument took place between a group of men and a woman.
Police have since found evidence of gunshots in the White Thorn View area, and said a woman was stabbed.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or changing, however she is still in hospital.
Detective Inspector Claire Moss, from our dedicated Armed Crime Team and the senior investigator officer on this case said: "Fortunately, no one sustained life-threatening injuries or was harmed following the firearms discharge.
"This could have been a different story with a very different outcome.
"Gun crime has no place here in South Yorkshire - we won't tolerate it.
"If you do have information that can help us in our investigation, we are urging you to come forward."
Extra patrols are taking place in the area.
