Woman charged over fatal north Derbyshire crash

A woman in her 40s has been charged after a fatal crash in northern Derbyshire earlier this week.

Officers were called to the B5023 between Idridgehay and Wirksworth at around 9:45m on Tuesday (November 26).

A Vauxhall Corsa was involved in a collision with a Land Rover.

The Corsa driver, 44 year old Tracey Meek, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man, who was in the Corsa, remains seriously injured in hospital.

42 year old Linda Spencer has now been charged in connection with the collision.

She stands accused of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and failing to co-operate with a preliminary test.

She has been remanded into custody following an appearance at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court today.
