Wildfire at Lady Canning's Plantation in Sheffield

Firefighters in Sheffield have been tackling a huge blaze on moorland overnight (Tuesday, 30 May).

It broke out on Lady Canning's Plantation and it's thought it's ripped through woodlands.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have been asking people to stay away from the area.

Many people took to Twitter, saying the blaze lit up the sky last night.

Lady Canning's Plantation is a commercially-managed, coniferous woodland on the edge of the Peak district.
