Police are issuing a warning to dog owners after chews containing what's thought to be poison were found in a garden in Shiregreen.

At some point yesterday evening, four dog chews were reportedly thrown onto a garden on Hartley Brook Road.

The chews had blue pellets pushed inside them which officers think could be poisonous.

The homeowner has two dogs - it's not thought they ate any of the pellets, but they are being monitored closely.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident.
