Two men sentenced to life in prison for Sheffield murder

Two men are starting life sentences for the murder of a 30 year old in Sheffield.
Khurm Javed was found fatally injured with shot and stab wounds in Clough Road in April last year.
Samsul Mohammed and Tinashe Kampira have been sentenced to a combined 58 years for the murder.
Samsul Mohamed was given life in prison with a minimum of 32 years. He was also sentenced to 18 years in prison, to run concurrently, for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Tinashe Kampira was also given a life sentence with a minimum of 26 years for the murder of Khurm Javed, and 18 years for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, to run concurrently.
Two other men have been jailed after assisting an offender.
Saydul Mohamed, and Sohidul Mohamed were both sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Hakin, who led the investigation into Khurm’s murder, said:
“This was an extremely violent attack, which once again lays bare the heart breaking implications of knife and gun crime. Not only has Khurm very sadly lost his life as a result of this senseless act, but his family, including his wife and two children, have been left distraught and will have to live with the consequences of these two men’s actions for the rest of their lives.
“My thoughts today are once again with Khurm’s family. They have shown great courage and dignity throughout these proceedings. I know that no length of sentence will bring Khurm back to them, but I hope they feel that, in some small way, justice has been done."
In the victim impact statement read in court, Khurm’s wife, Sanna Munir, explained the impact Khurm’s death has had on her and her family’s life, Sanna said ‘on the 10th April 2021, when Khurm was murdered, a part of me died too’, she added, ‘I will mourn Khurm forever’
