Two more men charged in connection with Sheffield murder

Two more people have been charged over the death of Kevin Pokuta in Sheffield.

The 19-year-old was fatally shot last December on Page Hall Road, he died the next day.

Leon Waite, 27, formally of Denholme Close, Sheffield, and Lester Ramsey, 25, formally of Skelton Close, Sheffield, have both been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The total number of people charged in connection with the case is now 4, 15 arrests have been made in connection with the death of Kevin.

A Police spokesperson said:

"Two further men have been charged in connection with the death of Kevin Pokuta.

"Kevin, 19, was fatally shot on Tuesday 12 December last year, on Page Hall Road in Sheffield. He sadly died the following day.

"Leon Waite, 27, formally of Denholme Close, Sheffield, and Lester Ramsey, 25, formally of Skelton Close, Sheffield, have both been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

"The total number of persons charged in relation to the investigation is now four, with 15 arrests made in connection to the death of Kevin.

"Both men appeared before Sheffield Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday 24 April) and have been remanded in custody until their next appearance on 14 June 2024."
