Two children seriously injured in dangerous dog attack in Rotherham

A man also suffered minor injuries and another dog was seriously harmed

A 2-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy are seriously injured after being attacked by a dangerous dog in Rotherham this morning.

Emergency services were called to Broadwater in Bolton upon Dearne at 8.17am.

It's reported the dog bit a man, causing minor injuries, as well as the two children who were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The animal is also reported to have attacked another dog, seriously harming it.

Officers found the dog on Ingfield Lane, where a member of the public took hold of its collar. The dog remains in police care.

A 46-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control.
