Tributes to Barnsley Schoolboy Conley Thompson
Flowers, teddies and toys have been left at a building site in Worsbrough where the 7 year old's body was found.
Friends, family and people living in Barnsley have been paying tribute to a 7 year old boy who died after going missing.
Hallam FM's chief reporter Laura Pennington has been reading some of the messages left for Conley Thompson and his family:
Conley was last seen by his mum on Sunday 26th July.
He left home to go to Locke Park and play with his friends but never returned.
Messages have been left at the roadside next to the building site where his body was found including:
"Sleep tight with the angels"
"Fly high our little mate"
"Cheeky chappie Conley, thinking of you, your mum and all your family"
"Can't believe you're gone - you meant so much to us all"
A book of condolence has also been opened at the nearby church St Thomas'.
It's as a post-mortem examination's revealed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Conley's death.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Stopford, the Senior Investigating officer, said:
"The results of the post mortem suggest that Conley had, by some means, entered a vertical pipe on a nearby construction site and was unable to get out.
"Conley's weight caused him to fall further into the pipe and pushed his clothing up around his body restricting his breathing.
"There is no suggestion of any third party involvement.
"Our job is to now piece together Conley's movements on Sunday evening and establish how he accessed the construction site.
"Forming part of that investigation we will continue to work with the Health and Safety Executive and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Conley at this extremely difficult time."
