Fitness experts in South Yorkshire are urging us to do more exercise to shed pounds - rather than turning to deadly diet pills.

We've been highlighting the dangers of buying slimming pills online all this week - as part of our #DyingToDiet campaign.

Today fitness experts have been telling us it's "scary" how easily accessible the tablets are online but that there IS an alternative.

Laura Jeffery's Fitness manager at Sheffield City Trust - who run facilities like Hillsborough Leisure Centre and Ponds Forge:

"You don't have to search very far for it and it's there and it's attractive and there might be an endorsement with it. There'll no doubt be quite a glam picture that's not far away from it - and I think that's what's scary.

"If you're in a really healthy habit, you can book a holiday tomorrow and you're not going to worry about what you look like or how you feel in your holiday clothes because you know every week you're putting in to your body the best you can. And then it takes away that pressure then of one fix for one little event."

Bryony's Fitness Manager at Hillsborough Leisure Centre:

"I think we live in a very image conscious culture at the moment - magazines, TV shows, everyone looks a certain way. There's a big drive for people to achieve that sort of image. What we try and do is take it away from that and do something that's healthy, achievable and sustainable for everybody.

"People tend to panic losing weight for events, for weddings, for parties, and it's just not necessary. You can achieve so much more if you train smarter and you train with people who are knowledgeable in a group of people who all have similar interests and fitness goals."
