Sports Challenge 2021 - Meet the finalists
Meet the finalists!
Our Sports themed grant round is back and has been one of our most successful grant rounds in recent times since its debut back in 2018.
Four campaigns have allowed us to provide grants for over a quarter of a million pounds in to grass roots sport across our region and this years competition looks set to continue that success.
A huge thank you to Sheffield City Trust, who have supported the campaign since the start, the health and wellbeing charity have leisure centres and golf courses across the region.
13 projects are now in the hunt for a grant. All the teams and clubs have had a fundraising briefing and they'll be awarded a grant back for what they raise with the overall winner receiving an additional £5,000 towards their project.
The pandemic has either paused progress or created new problems with clubs who are wanting to better facilities, subsidise children's costs for participation, kit and equipment being the majority of the issues clubs and schools are seeking support for.
A celebratory event with Sheffield City Trust will take place in September, more to follow on that. So let's meet the teams and you can visit their fundraising web pages to pledge support.
