It's hoped people from a wide range of religious and non-religious backgrounds will meet in South Yorkshire tonight to remember the victims of the war in Ukraine.

It's as a peace vigil is due to go ahead at Sheffield Cathedral later, which will be open to anyone who'd like to attend.

The Dean of Sheffield Cathedral-Reverend Abi Thompson-thinks it'll be a special evening:

"We hear so much about conflict and so much about things that we disagree on, so to have people-who could be seen as opposition to one other-sitting together with the same thoughts and desires for peace, is a very powerful thing.

"It'll be an opportunity for people to come and light candles, and just spend some time in quiet really.

"Hopefully, it'll allow us all to reflect on the situation in Ukraine, no matter what our religious background.

"People from a variety of faiths will be speaking throughout the ceremony.

"We'll be able to think about the situation in Ukraine collectively, but in our own unique way at the same time."

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 5pm.
