Three men from South Yorkshire have been arrested in Staffordshire, where Police are investigating a disorder at a traveller's camp that was released on social media.

The 26, 32 and 34 year olds were detained in Stoke-on-Trent on Friday night.

A video which appeared online seemed to show rival traveller's groups clashing, footage released in response to that featured threats of revenge.

Detective Superintendent Steve Morrey, of Staffordshire Police’s Force Safeguarding and Investigation (South), said: “We’d like to be clear to our communities that we have plans in place to offer reassurance through increased patrols at locations across the County. Due to the nature of offences that have taken place we continue to monitor social media sites.

“We have acted swiftly to detain suspects and will not tolerate threats and this kind of disorder in Staffordshire. We will do all we can to protect victims, members of the public and our communities.”

“The investigation is being led by detectives and we are appealing for anyone with information in relation to these matters to come forward to help us send a very clear message to individuals who want to engage in this kind of criminal behaviour.
