A young man from South Yorkshire who suffered life-changing injuries after a car crash wants to help stop others from making the same mistake. James Logan, 24, accepted a lift from a friend the morning after a night out not realising he was still over the alcohol limit. The car they were in ended up smashing into a field leaving him trapped underneath.

The crash was almost two years ago, now James says he now wants to warn more people about the dangers of drinking and driving.

He told us:

"If you're travelling to work leave your car at home the night before. Arrange other transport like public transport, taxis or a lift from friends and family - People who haven't been intoxicated by alcohol"

"Always get in a car with a seatbelt on. You're responsible for your own safety. If you have been intoxicated, think about what you're going to be doing the next day."
