South Yorkshire charity struck by thieves
Thieves have targeted a charity in South Yorkshire which supports children with special needs and their families.
Thieves have targeted a charity in South Yorkshire which supports children with special needs and their families.
A number of adapted bikes, trikes and scooters have been stolen from Amy's House in Sheffield. It's a place where young people can play and learn giving much needed respite for parents and carers.
Alison Orbell has a six year old son, Max, who uses the facility.
She said:
"These are children who really need this equipment; it's not good for anyone else. You can't sell them on, and I can't believe they don't know who these bikes are for.
"It's just such a waste. These people need to come forward and give these kids their bikes back."
CEO Antonia Seward has told us they're looking into replacing the stolen items but admits they're not going to find it easy:
"We are partly council funded, but we do heavily rely on fundraising to keep going. We're a small charity and times are hard at the moment, so this has just come at a really bad time"
The charity have now launched a fundraising page to help replace the stolen bikes.
