Sheffield Tram Collision Causes Travel Disruption

Two trams have collided at Shalesmoor tram stop. The incident happened at around 8.45 this morning. Services between Middlewood, Malin Bridge and Shalesmoor have been disrupted. Three people have been taken to hospital as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Supertram said:

"We can confirm that services travelling through Shalesmoor are subject to delays this morning following a low-speed collision involving two trams shortly after 0830hrs. "We understand that three people have been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. "Our immediate thoughts are for the welfare of the passengers and our staff involved. Safety is our absolute priority. We will carry out an investigation into the cause. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused passengers and we are working to resume services as soon as possible."
