Sheffield man killed in Snake Pass crash named by police

Ehtisham Hanif, 29, was driving a BMW which collided with two Honda Civics. He was pronounced dead at the Sheffield Northern General Hospital.

A Sheffield man killed in a crash on the A57 Snake Pass on Sunday night has been named by police

Ehtisham Hanif, 29, was driving a BMW which collided with two Honda Civics. He was pronounced dead at the Sheffield Northern General Hospital.

Joshua Rosenberg, 18, from Cheshire who was driving one of the Hondas died at the scene.

Police were called to the scene at 9.50pm on Sunday following reports that five cars had been involved in two collisions.

The first collision involved a black BMW, a white Honda Civic and a silver Honda Civic.

Three of the passengers in the BMW were injured, two of them seriously.

A passenger in the white Honda also suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

A man driving the silver Honda was seriously injured and remains in hospital.

As a result of the collision, vehicles behind these three had to brake heavily and two of them collided; a Vauxhall Corsa and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was injured in this second collision.

The road was closed while emergency services worked to extract victims and clear debris.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the BMW driving in the area prior to the collision.
